Citlali Cortés Montaño
Soy hija de madre sonorense y padre chihuahuense, nacida en el hermoso estado de Jalisco. Después de que un viaje mochilero me trajo a la Sierra Tarahumara en 1998, supe que regresaría a trabajar en la tierra de mis padres. Trabajé en la Sierra de Manantlán, Jalisco, desde 1994 hasta el 2000 y en USAID y la CONANP entre el 2002 y el 2004, cuando me uní al equipo de WWF. Soy ingeniera en recursos naturales con especialidad en manejo forestal y conservación por la Universidad de Guadalajara y tengo una maestría en manejo forestal por la Universidad de Yale. I was born to a Sonoran mother and a Chihuahuan father in the beautiful state of Jalisco, in Central Western México. I knew that I would eventually come back to my parents’ homeland after a backpacking trip brought me to the Sierra Tarahumara in 1998. I worked in the Sierra de Manantlán, Jalisco, from 1994-2000 and in USAID and CONANP (National Commission for Protected Areas) between 2002 and 2004, when I joined WWF. I have a B.Sc. in natural resource management, specializing in forestry and conservation, from the University of Guadalajara, and an M.F. from Yale.
