This quarterly journal is a forum for discussion of public policy related to science, engineering, and medicine. This includes policy for science (how we nurture the health of the research enterprise) and science for policy (how we use knowledge more effectively to achieve social goals), with emphasis on the latter. The site provides free access to and a search function for the full text of articles, beginning with the Fall 1996 issue.

Until its demise in 1995 the U.S. Congressional Office of Technology Assessment (OTA) produced an extensive series of well-regarded reports on a wide range of key policy issues related to science and technology. While OTA no longer exists, this site maintains a complete archive of all the reports OTA produced.

The RAND Corporation, one of the leading policy research institutes in the U.S., has focused extensively on science and technology policy. The Science and Technology Policy Institute was sponsored by the National Science Foundation and operated by RAND from 1992 to 2003. Both the Institute archives site and the Science and Technology Policy Research site contain the full text of a number of recent publications on domestic and international science policy issues.
