- Potential effect of population and climate changes on global distribution of dengue fever: an empirical model. — by Stanzin Tonyot — last modified 2006-12-10 05:07
- Existing theoretical models of the potential effects of climate change on vector-borne diseases do not account for social factors such as population increase, or interactions between climate variables. Our aim was to investigate the potential effects of global climate change on human health, and in particular, on the transmission of vector-borne diseases. We modelled the reported global distribution of dengue fever on the basis of vapour pressure, which is a measure of humidity. We assessed changes in the geographical limits of dengue fever transmission, and in the number of people at risk of dengue by incorporating future climate change and human population projections into our model.

- Good Practice Guidance nad Uncertainty Management in National Greenhouse Gas Inventories — by Stanzin Tonyot — last modified 2007-01-08 21:40
- Published by Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change. At its 8th session in June 1998, the Subsidiary Body for Scientific and Technological Advice (SBSTA-8) of the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC), encouraged the IPCC-OECD-IEA Inventories Programme to give high priority to completing its work on uncertainty, as well as to prepare a report on good practices in inventory management and to submit a report on these issues for consideration by the SBSTA, if possible by COP5. This report is the IPCC’s (Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change) response to the SBSTA.

- The Costs of Inaction — by Stanzin Tonyot — last modified 2007-01-08 23:02
- This report examines the costs of inaction – the worsening damages that will result from allowing climate change to continue unabated. Economic models have estimated damages as great as US$74 trillion, but even these numbers fail to convey the multiple harms that lie in store for the world. In brief, we find that the first 2° of warming will have many harmful and costly impacts, outweighing the modest potential benefits, for northern countries such as the United Kingdom. Most developing countries will fare even worse, experiencing greater costs and no benefits at all.
