The new FAA 118/119 Tropical Forest and Biodiversity Analysis Best Practices Guide provides practical how-to advice for USAID staff and contractors conducting the analysis.

Sections 118 and 119 of the Foreign Assistance Act (FAA) mandate country-level analyses that support the integration of conservation actions into missions' Regional and Country Development Cooperation Strategies (RDCS/CDCS). This new and improved guidance aims to help missions carry out these analyses.

The new FAA 118/119 Tropical Forest and Biodiversity Analysis Best Practices Guide promotes a standardized application of best practices to assist missions with preparing for, managing, conducting and using the 118/119 analysis; the guide also better aligns the analysis with new requirements in USAID’s ADS Chapter 201: Program Cycle Operational Policy and with the Mandatory Reference for ADS Chapter 201.

For missions interested in using or modifying the scope of work template or the annotated outline, an editable version of the annexes is available.
