Seafood Alliance for Legality and Traceability (SALT)

SALT is a global alliance for knowledge exchange and action to promote legal and sustainable fisheries through improved transparency in seafood supply chains.

The Seafood Alliance for Sustainability and Traceability (SALT) is a global alliance for knowledge exchange and action to promote legal and sustainable fisheries and improve the transparency of seafood supply chains. The U.S. Agency for International Development, the Walton Family Foundation, the Gordon and Betty Moore Foundation, the David and Lucile Packard Foundation and FishWise, a non-profit sustainable seafood consultancy, are partners on SALT.

FishWise, as the facilitator of SALT, will convene businesses, governments and organizations to collaborate on solutions for legal and sustainable seafood and enhanced tracking of seafood through supply chains. SALT will build the capacities of these actors by fostering key relationships, facilitating learning across pilot sites to promote innovation and expanding the use of emerging good practices.
