Tally-O: Improving internal traceability through digitization in small-scale processors

A project to develop open-source beta software to enable seafood processing companies to improve their internal traceability and production data recording through software called Tally-O.

The project developed open-source beta software, hardware, coding and labeling solution that improves the granularity of traceability data and improves the data management of seafood businesses in tuna supply chains, specific to one pilot supply chain involving three tuna processing facilities in Indonesia and Vietnam. The beta software, called Tally-O, replaced paper tallies in the processing plants with tablet or laptop computers that were connected to electronic weigh scales, barcode label printers and scanners. The system digitized and automated data collection in the processing facilities.
