This paper examines the extent to which conservancies have been successful in meeting their primary goal of improving the lives of rural households in Namibia. The benefits of community conservancies in Namibia are evaluated based on whether they increase household welfare, are pro-poor, and participants gain more relative to non-participants. 2004
