IITF provided a long-term Senior Forestry and Environmental Advisor to the USAID/Panama Mission from 1998 to 2002. Technical assistance was provided to manage the USAID environmental portfolio and to develop the USAID supported ecotourism program in the Panama Canal watershed. After 2002, IITF continued to provide occasional technical assistance in support of local environmental NGOs.
