Sudan USFS IP Trip Report: Juba Rural Roads Training; Jan 08

This report documents the site visit, local roads review, and rural roads training conducted in Juba, Southern Sudan, with members of GOSS (Government of Southern Sudan) and other engineers from the region. A four-day training course was conducted during the week of January 28 to 31 by James Sherar, Civil Engineer retired from the Forest Service, and Gordon Keller, Geotechnical Engineer with the USDA Forest Service. About 55 people participated in this training. The course consisted of 3 days of classroom discussions and lectures, and two afternoon field trips to evaluate local road conditions.
