CARPE Director Position (USAID) based in Kinshasa, Democratic Republic of Congo

The U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID/East Africa) is seeking applications from qualified individuals interested in providing U.S. Personal Services Contract services as described in the original solicitation here (disregard the closing deadline--view the amendment here).  


Basic Position Description

The CARPE Director/Team Leader will report to the Operating Unit Director. The director will have a wide-ranging management authority and discretion, and plays the key and pivotal role in leading a highly specialized team, providing overall program management leadership, planning support, responsibility for achieving specified results, monitoring performance of the CARPE partners and the program overall, and coordination of implementing partners and donors. S/He is expected to exercise considerable independent judgment and initiative in executing all duties and responsibilities, and work with minimal direct supervision.

The Central Africa Regional Program for the Environment (CARPE) is a United States Agency for International Development (USAID) initiative aimed at promoting sustainable natural resource management in the Congo Basin.

  Conservation Research and Monitoring Internship

Description of Internship
An internship with Rare in the Conservation Research and Monitoring Program (CRM) Program offers an exciting opportunity for a self-motivated, enthusiastic, and qualified individual who is broadly interested in monitoring effectiveness for an international conservation organization.  The CRM program was recently created to enhance Rare's ability to measure the impact of their social marketing campaigns ("Pride") on indicators associated with the organization's Theory of Change.  Although this program is relatively new, it offers a number of unique opportunities for the right individual to support cross-cutting department needs in designing high-level programmatic indicators that are tied to the success of campaigns on the ground.
