Climate and Ecosystem Services Manager

Regional Compliance Officer
Location: Nairobi, Kenya

The Regional Compliance Office (RCO) supports Conservation International's global risk management goals by implementing a risk management strategy for the Africa & Madagascar region under the guidance of the Regional Senior Director of  Operations  and in collaboration with the Senior Director of Compliance & Risk Management.
The RCO will support the Regional Senior Director of Operations (RDO) for the Africa & Madagascar Region by monitoring country program implementation of operational policies and procedures, including finance, grants management, human resources and other operational functions performed in the regions country program offices.  The RCO will perform systematic sampling and testing of financial and operational activity for compliance with Conservation International's internal policies/procedures, and external requirements.  The RCO will work, under the guidance of the Senior Director of Internal Audit, implement CI's Risk Based Approach, including a plan to monitor the operations of for the region designed to timely identify potential chances/incidents of non-compliance and fraud.

Global Diversity and Inclusion Director
Location: Arlington, VA
The Global Diversity and Inclusion Director establishes the Conservancy as a leader in leveraging difference, diversity and inclusion for organizational effectiveness and conservation impacts; with the Executive Team Diversity Steering Committee defines diversity and inclusion priorities at a global level; and leads and manages a team and a matrix of internal partners which support and improve leveraging difference, diversity and inclusion impacts organization-wide. The Director assures dissemination of best and next practices, provides training and analyses to best implement organizational measures of success, and develops key partnerships.

WCS Country Finance Director, Cameroon
Location: Cameroon

The Country Finance Director will document and report to the Country Director, with a dotted-line report to the WCS Comptroller. The primary objective is to establish and oversee efficient systems for financial and personnel management for the WCS Country Program Office and Field Projects. S/he will maintain appropriate communication with WCS Project leaders (Directors, Managers, and Administrators), key donors and funding agencies and local governmental institutions (e.g. Ministries of Finance, Labor etc.). S/he will coordinate and consult regularly with WCS-New York to manage timely and accurate submission of reports.

Global Forest Watch Liberia Technical Assistant
Location: Monrovia, Liberia
WRI seeks a candidate for a Liberia Technical Assistant to join the Global Forest Watch (GFW) Initiative's Liberia team.
The GFW Liberia Technical Assistant will be based in Monrovia working as part of the Africa Forests team and in close collaboration with the Global Forests Watch team and partners. The position will largely focus on leading the development of Liberia specific GFW applications (largely GIS based), developing data management and diffusion protocols, compiling data content, conducting research and analysis related to forests and building the capacity of WRI's partners in Liberia in the use of GFW tools to apply information to management of forest resources.  The Technical Assistant will report to the GFW Liberia National Coordinator. The GFW Liberia program is relatively new and thus this position will play a significant role in shaping the direction of GFW's work, as well as leading the technical implementation for GFW in Liberia.

Fundraising Manager

Research Specialist

Measuring Impact is a USAID-funded five-year initiative (2013-2017) to enhance the impact of USAID biodiversity and forestry programs through improved knowledge, evidence-based programming, and adaptive management. Food, fuel and forests: Research Associate

Location: Charlottesville, VA

Position Description:
The Department of Environmental Sciences at the University of Virginia (UVA) seeks a Research Associate to contribute to research on modeling the interactions and feedbacks among land use, climate, ecosystem health and human well-being. Focusing at two scales--global and regional, in east Africa--the research is funded by a UVA Program of Distinction Grant and the MacArthur Foundation. The research associate will work with Deborah Lawrence and an interdisciplinary team at UVA in Charlottesville, Virginia, with travel to the National Center for Atmospheric Research (NCAR) in Boulder, Colorado and possible travel to Africa. The broader research project aims to 1) evaluate the impact of global land allocation among food, biofuels and forests on climate, 2) apply results from the global analysis to the great lakes region of East Africa, 3) develop a framework to assess the moral/ethical, socio-economic and ecological impacts of climate regimes based on alternative land use allocations, and 4) determine the economic, legal and political leverage points for pursuing particular land-climate regimes. This research associate will focus mainly on climate modeling (1,2) and ecological impacts (3), using the Community Land Model (CLM) and the Community Earth System Model (CESM).

Conservation and Communications Assistant

Location: Washington, DC

This position devotes approximately 50% of time to admin duties and 50% of time to communications. The incumbent will be the point person on all media inquiries and social media content, and performs a variety of administrative support functions for the Conservation department's programs and operations.
