The United States Agency for International Development (USAID) recently announced the Higher Education Partnerships to Support the U.S.-Burma Commitment to Democracy, Peace and Prosperity. The agency is seeking concept papers that address Burma's social and economic development goals through collaborations among the private sector and U.S. and Burmese higher education institutions. An information session for interested applicants will take place on Dec. 12, 2012. To attend the session in Washington, D.C. or participate via webcast, register now.

USAID is accepting papers from a wide range of U.S. organizations with a strong interest in higher education and development in Burma, including (but not limited to) community colleges and universities, private businesses, business and trade associations, foundations, non-governmental organizations, faith-based organizations, U.S.-based international organizations, civic groups, and regional organizations. Complete application instructions and details for this funding opportunity can be found at USAID-BURMA-SOL-486-13-000012. The deadline for the concept papers is Jan. 31, 2013.
