This panel will present gender and development related issues and challenges in the field, and gender equality strategies in natural resource management and biodiversity conservation programming.

It will be presented in a three part discussion by:

  1. Natalie Elwell will present on USAID's gender equality and women's empowerment policies and strategies.  She will discuss the methods that USAID is utilizing to ensure that gender equality is integrated into programming and project design in each technical sector.
  2. Diane Russell will present on the Central Africa Regional Program for the Environment's (CARPE) gender analysis and recommendations for integrating gender equality and women's empowerment into program implementation.
  3. Ada Oko-Williams will present on experiences from the field and the successful inclusion of gender into the implementation of STEWARD program activities.
