- The training, supported by USAID’s Afghanistan Workforce Development Program (AWDP), concentrates on the needs of the country’s small but burgeoning private sector. The program gives grants to providers of business, technical and vocational education. The grantees are required to create bespoke courses for workers in line with the needs articulated by their private sector employers.

Government Internship Program in Jalalabad 2013

- Eighteen women celebrated their graduation from the USAID Women in Government Internship Program in Jalalabad on Wednesday. These women completed six-month internships at either Nangarhar University, the Directorate of Rural Rehabilitation and Development, the Directorate of Education, the Directorate Public Health, or the Nangarhar High Court. These 18 women are the first group to graduate from Nangarhar province since the Jalalabad program launch in October 2012.

School Managers Received Training on Better School Administration 2011

- USAID’s Building Education Support Systems for Teachers project has launched capacity-building training to improve school administration in Kabul. The three-day training was provided to 220 school administrators. Facilitated in close collaboration with the Human Resources Department of the Afghan Education Ministry, the training enhances the skills of school administrators and enables them to learn new and better ways of drafting their daily work-plans, develops a good educational environment inside the school among teachers and administrative personnel of the schools, and trains them to conduct performance appraisals of their staff impartially, and on the basis of their accomplishments.
